"Everything, down to the shampoo, is top quality" at this "remotely located", but "wonderfully renovated" "favorite" where "gorgeous landscaping" and the "desert serenity" set the stage for "lovely", "bungalow-style suites" bedecked with "unbelievably comfortable beds"; the "excellent golf" (via Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Red Lawrence), "great pool", "lovely" Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa, "bar with live entertainment" and "impeccable staff" make the 30-mile drive from Phoenix worth it.

This place has a relaxing atmosphere even with lots of people around.
Difficult to find at night because it is surrounded by housing areas.

I stayed at this resort for three nights. The beds are extremely comfortable. The rooms are very spacious too. The resort is spread out so your not right next to your neighbors. The rooms have a southwestern look to them so its got a rustic feel to it. The staff at the restaurants and pools are very friendly and always offering to provide assistance. The food is reasonably priced and tasted great at the restaurants. I ate breakfast and lunch there. When ever I am back in Phoenix area this is where I will stay. ...read more

Made up for poor wake up situation with lunch.
Hotel maid knocking on door at 8:20 am/checkout is noon. Went to concert night before.

Would like to go back for two or three days. I only live 50 miles away.

Very clean & friendly.
The pool water was to hot and the AC was to noisy.

Amazingly comfortable bed! with fluffy, luxurious pillows! best bed ever in a hotel!
The pool was loud with music and emcees for Memorial Day weekend. We wanted quiet time at the pool.

Excellent! We loved our stay. The luxurious bed and pillows, alone, were worth the price! I miss that bed! Excellent staff, customer service, food, grounds. Great place! I will stay there again.

Spectacular service.
Some issues with air conditioner compressor noise.

The Wigwam is a unique resort with the feel of a resort from a prior era. The staff and service are exceptional - nearly all employees had a smile on their face and seemed truly happy. All of our concerns were met rapidly and were resolved (rare for any hotel). The rooms were large and the grounds were spacious with many features. ...read more

Older hotel - bathrooms need remodeling.

This hotel did not meet the Starwood luxury collection status, that I've seen in other places. The hotel is old and you can see that in the bathrooms especially. This hotel has resort amenities and dining that are overpriced for the overall quality of the rooms. ...read more

Service was good.
Old, rooms smell like old smoke, rained and ceiling vent leaked, food very average, not remotely a 4 star hotel.

I would not recommend. Definitely not a 4-star hotel. I have also seen it rated other places as a 5-star. Anyone who rated it that must've been smoking crack to give that rating! Pass on this one, unless you're looking for large rooms on a budget. ...read more

Room service was nice.

Would not recommend- First room-smelled of smoke- bed half made with the shams stacked on a chair and the smoke detector detached and sitting on the stool. I called and requested another room- took way too long for them to send a bellhop and we were going to an affair that evening and needed to get ready. I had to call again. The 2nd room was made up nice- the linens were very nice- The bathroom has no air conditioning whatsoever (not conducive to curling hair or applying make-up as I was sweating so badly) and there must have been a hot water pipe busted under the slab as the floor was hot to the feet and the shower would only work with hot or warm water. The shower floor was hot on your feet while standing in it. When we got back from our night out, the bathroom being so hot and with the door being open-heated the room where the wall unit air conditioner could not cool it down. We ended up sleeping with the bathroom door closed-When we awoke to use the bathroom and opened the door- it must have been well over 100 degrees in there. This was an embarrassing experience for me, as I was treating my partner to what I had hoped would be a nice and romantic night for his 55th birthday. It was worse than I can imagine a Motel 6 would be. ...read more
